"'Va-t’en me perdre où tu voudras' is a journey of exploration into the loss of my father. His death a few years earlier was the result of an accident while roaming the south of Ireland by motorcycle with friends. Retracing his route filled me with both joy and sadness, inside and outside, backwards and forwards, oscillating from nostalgia to amnesia. In the confusion of these days, emerge traces of an order that seem to mysteriously drive me towards unexpected growth." (N.B.)

"...wherever you’d like - In October 2011 Nolwenn ended up in places that her father and five friends had visited, sixteen years previously. He passed away in his hotel room there. She then followed the chronological and geographical thread of his path, in order to regain his ground.  
‘Fate leaves a trail along the way; it is the only way of becoming acquainted with its arbitrary nature. The vestiges of an order appear in the days that are all of a blur, appearing to mysteriously govern me and give me unexpected repercussions,’ she writes.
The title refers to a poem by Nicolas Bouvier, The Point of No Return, published for the first time in 1982 in the collection Outside and Inside: ‘Life was so disorientating and great / That you said or rather murmured ‘Go losing me wherever you want’ / The waves retorted, ‘you will not believe it.’
Photographs are fixed images featuring landscapes as well as figures.
These images of landscapes are full and dense, sometimes requiring more focus to make out the contours. They frequently painstakingly convey a graphic detail or a delicate colour. They thus form, geographical benchmarks, as well as psychological portraits, from which a strange calm emanates, as is often the case with pictures known as ‘silent’. 
Plants feature consistently in these photographs, forming their plasticity. There are also figures. These photographs depict faces, but sometimes just unsteady or immobile bodies. A sense of abandonment or exhaustion is perceived. The individuals are portrayed as vulnerable as they falter and flag." (Emmanuel Madec - extracts)

in French: "'Va-t’en me perdre où tu voudras' est un voyage initiatique sur la disparition de mon père, survenue quelques années auparavant, des suites d’un accident alors qu’il parcourait le sud de l’Irlande avec des amis à moto. J’emprunte l’itinéraire qu’il suivit, je me remplis de joie et de tristesse à la fois, dans le dehors et le dedans, en arrière et en avant, oscillant de la nostalgie à l’amnésie. Dans la confusion des jours, apparaissent les traces d’un ordre qui semble me régir mystérieusement et me donnera des prolongements inattendus." (N.B.)

Nolwenn Brod spürt fotografisch Momente auf, die sie zusammen mit Ihrem 16 Jahre früher verstorbenen Vater erlebt hat, als sie mit ihm und fünf Freunden verschiedene Plätze besuchten. Das Cover gibt ein Bild von Alexander Henry wieder, keine Fotografie, sondern ein Waldmotiv, welches wunderbar zu den stillen Bildern im Buch passt. Insgesamt hat das in einer Auflage von 500 exemplaren erschienen Buch die Anmut eines Künstlerbuchs.
