Aletti, Vince

Über den US-amerikanischen Kurator, Schriftsteller und Fotokritiker Vince Aletti (*1945)

Von 1970 bis 1989 schrieb er für den Rolling Stone, doch am bekanntesten ist Vince Aletti für seine Beiträge zur Kunstfotografie. Er rezensiert und kuratiert Fotoausstellungen und verfasst Texte für Dutzende von Fotobüchern. 1998 war er Kurator einer hochgelobten Ausstellung für Kunst und Fotografie mit dem Titel 'Male', die 1999 von 'Female' abgelöst wurde. 2000 war er Ko-Kurator einer Ausstellung mit dem Titel 'Settings & Players: Theatrical Ambiguity in American Photography'. Im Jahr 2001 organisierte er eine retrospektive Ausstellung von Steven Kleins Mode-Fotografien. Er war einer der beiden Autoren von 'The Book of 101 Books: Seminal Photographic Books of the Twentieth Century' (2001) und wurde vom International Center of Photography (ICP), New York, mit dem Infinity Award für das Schreiben ausgezeichnet.
