Background information, content
"The photo book 'Wounded. The Legacy of War' by Bryan ADAMS features stunning portraits of young British servicemen and women who returned from Iraq or Afghanistan wounded or wounded in exercises. The Canadian photographer focuses his lens on their scars, their injuries and mutilations. Because of this depressing immediacy, the portraits are challenging to the viewer, but at the same time they reveal the impressive strength of character and bravery with which the victims continue to live each day with dignity despite their impairments. They are stunning photographs of people who went to war without hesitation and now tell their story. The images are accompanied by interviews that shed light on each individual fate."
