Background information
"It doesn't happen too often that a book about a restaurant is featured. Books about restaurants are even rarer. Even if they were as well-known and iconic as the Lommerzheim restaurant in Cologne's Deutz district. After the long out-of-print volume 'Lommerzheim. Kleines Glück op Kölsch' (1997), this title, 'LOMMERZHEIM: ...die Legende lebt' (Lommerzheim: ...the legend lives), was published in 2016 and was also completely out of print shortly after publication. A very informative, easy to read volume with many historical photographs about the Cologne cult pub and its former assessor of the same name, called 'Lommi' for short.
Contents, additional information
'LOMMERZHEIM: ...die Legende lebt' by Markus Werker and Norbert Bergrath is a volume of history and stories about the Kölsch pub affectionately called 'Lommi' by its patrons. Many fans, guests and Cologne residents have worked on it: The publishers were able to attract more than forty text and picture authors who contributed their memories and numerous picture documents. Among them are Hans Schumacher, editor of the book 'Lommerzheim. Kleines Glück op Kölsch,' or Cologne veterans such as cabaret artist Jürgen Becker and writer Franz Mathar, who has written numerous books about Cologne breweries." (© Pellens, 2016)
