Background information
"Dutch photographic artist Erwin OLAF creates a world for his photographs and films that is staged down to the smallest detail. Although it looks confusingly similar to ours, it appears enigmatic in its artificiality. With their aesthetics borrowed from the film and advertising industries, his images are only superficially immaculate and striking. In fact, they deal with questions of democracy, equality, and self-determination.
Content

Also published here for the first time are Erwin OLAF's most recent works, created especially for the exhibition at Kunsthalle München." (freely translated publisher's note, © Hatje Cantz, 2021)
